About the Outfit:

I absolutely adore houndstooth. It is probably my favorite print. I also think skater style skirts work well for my body type. So when I spotted this cute lil Calvin Klein dress at my favorite store, yup you guessed it Ross, I just had to have it. I decided to pair it with these gladiator heels that I picked up from the Aldo Outlet store for a pop of color. It was pretty windy and the sun was in my eyes so please excuse of the squinting and hair blowing. :-)

This dress is actually a long plus shirt that I used to carry in my online clothing boutique. I just decided to sized up and wear it as a dress. I am wearing the 2XL size and I think it looks cute that way. And I can still always throw on a pair of jeans, leggings or slacks to get a different look.

Last week I posted a little black dress look that had nude illusion. This week I wanted to post another take on the little black dress. The little black dress is so iconic cause it is beautiful, easy and goes with everything. I love it for that same reason. This particular dress is one that I have had for a really long time so I don't usually think that much of it, but every time I wear it I get lots compliments. It's really simple and comfortable. The color, ruching on the side and the mock wrap panel in the front are definitely curvy girl friendly. They help conceal some belly bulge. I thought I would jazz up the dress a little by added these sparkly shoes I recently got and this bracelet that I love. 

What do you think about the little black dress? Is it something every woman should own?

I love the whole nude illusion trend. I think it can allow you to be modest and sexy all at the same time. I also really like things that offer an illusion, where you have to look twice to figure out what's really going on. The only problem is that most of the nude underneath are not meant for people my skin tone. :-( It would be lovely to find a  dress where the nude actually matches my skin. Maybe I will get ambitious one day and try dying the liner to match. But until then I still think this is a pretty cute dress. What do you think about nude illusion?

For some reason I have never been able to get into thrifting. I've tried before but never really found anything. I was driving by a thrift store and decided to stop because I saw a piece of furniture that I thought I liked outside. The piece of furniture wasn't what I thought, but as I was walking around I came upon this blazer. It was sitting on the edge of the rack and in my size. It's like it was meant for me and it was only $10! I thought there was a separate chiffon blouse inside the blazer but turns out it was all one piece. Yayyy! I also ended up finding a cute pair of shoes for $5 that I wore here and a $7.50 red knee length wool coat with fur collar that I will take pictures in soon. Boy I love a good deal!
