It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like 2016 + Link Up

I can’t believe this year is almost over. I swear 2015 seemed to just fly bye. I'm typically not into writing New Year’s resolution.  The idea of waiting unto a certain date to make declarations about all the things that you are going to do new and differently the next year only to fall off in February/March (i.e I hate going to the gym at the beginning of the year, it’s always so packed. But by  February, definitely March the crowd has thinned back to normal numbers) just seems ineffective. Now don’t get wrong, I think it is amazing to set goals and the first step to accomplishing what you want is to get clear about it. Writing these goals out, visualizing what you want, being grateful for all of the things you have and celebrating your accomplishments and wins as the come, even the small ones, are all great steps to getting what you want in life. But feeling like you have to wait until the new year to make these changes to me is like that diet I always swear I am going to start Monday and never do. J Do you have any great New Year’s resolutions or goals for the next year?  Do you have a plan together on how you are going to really stick to your resolutions and make your goals happen?
But with that being said, 2016 is quickly approaching and I do think it would be advantageous to take some time to reflect on the past year and think about what I want to accomplish in the future not just because it almost New Year’s but really inspite of it. So that is what I am going to do. J Do you have any great New Year’s resolutions or goals for the next year?  Do you have a plan for how you are going to really stick to your resolutions and make your goals happen?

Budget Outfit Details: Theses heels I got on sale at CharlotteRusse.com for only $10.99 and the dress came from Ross for only $14.99 so at under $26 I would definitely consider this a great budget outfit.

Mahogany Closet Mondays Tuesday Fashion Link-Up

Life has been crazy this week, but in a good way (mostly). Though I spent Christmas night and the next morning in the emergency room with my dad (he is doing fine now), the rest of the holidays have been great. My brother, and sister-in-law came down from Portland with my niece and nephew whom I haven't seen since my mom's celebration of life service a year and a half ago. So it is so amazing having them here. I'm thrilled and my kids are thrilled. But with all that is going on I wasn't able get the link up out yesterday as planned. But I did want to make sure to get the link up posted this week, so better a day late then never, right? :-)

Swap Couture + Mahogany Closet Mondays Fashion Link Up

I love clothes and fashion but as a citizen of the world I sometimes worry about over consuming and over producing and what effects that can have on our environment. I am also a big believer that you don't always have to spend a ton of money to look great. I think a great way to be fashionable while taking into account these two ideas can be achieved through one, thrifting or through two, swapping clothes with your friends. I utilized option number 2 for this outfit. I saw this cute little dress in my friends closet and knew that she never really wears it (like many things in her closet) and she was sweet enough to let me take it home with me. Swapping clothes can be a great and free way to extend your closet options. Do you ever swap clothes with your friends?
