For me an outfit usually start from an idea, theme, or a single piece I want to wear and builds from there. This outfit started with this collared peplum top. I got it long ago from my favorite store, and if you have read even a couple of my blog post you probably know what that is LOL, but have probably only worn it once. So I started with the top, decided to wear the black pencil skirt and then happened to look over see my black and white polka heels and thought yes that would be perfect. Added my thrifted red coat (one of my favorite pieces) for a pop of color and Voila (I sure there should be an accent mark or 2 in that word somewhere but you guys know what I mean :-) ). What do you guys think? Do you have a way in which you build outfits?

My love for everything C- Color block, Color Combos & Collared dress + Fashion Link Up

When I first saw this dress on ASOS.com I just knew I had to have it. I loved the shape;I loved the color blocking; and I loved the collar. Being the interesting color combo lover that I am, I knew that I wanted to wear it with something yellow, so I pulled these little strappy sandals off the self and viola!.What do you guys think?

Budget Outfit Details: The dress was $34 which is typically more than I pay for a dress, I have to really like it for that. But $34 is not expensive, I just happen to be quite frugal when it comes to some things. LOL The strappy heels I have had for about a year and they were only $16.02, not that was a great deal. So all and all $52.02 is still not bad for a budget outfit.

Mahogany Closet Mondays Fashion Link-Up

So sorry there was no link up last week. My dad is back in the hospital and I think because of work, kids, running around, stress, and not enough sleep I started feeling under the weather. I think it was my body's way of saying "Hey, get some sleep and take of yourself!" Consequently, I wasn't able to get the link up out last week. But one of my intentions for 2016 is to start planning and scheduling blog post ahead of time, so that I  can be more organized, effective, less stressed and the last minute inconveniences of life that are bound to happen don't have to such an impact.
