1 Year Blog Anniversary - Sunday Brunch at The District Oakland + Fashion Link Up

In November of last year I started this blog in honor of my mom and my love of fashion. It's been a labor of love, both fun and challenging at times. I knew I wanted to do something to celebrate so I decided to host a Sunday brunch. Just an opportunity to get together with some amazing people and have a good time. I am a big fan of brunch, that perfect mix of both breakfast and lunch. I planned it kind of last minute so I didn't know how it would turn out and I was so pleasantly surprised that so many of my friends came out to support me. I had an amazing time and amazing day. Thank you to everyone that came out, you guys really made my day!!!

Brunch at The District Oakland was great. They have a bottomless brunch, aka unlimited buffet, on Sundays. You can also add on bottomless mimosas, which most of us did choose to do. They have 5 different flavors listed on the menu, orange, peach, pineapple, cranberry, and grapefruit. Our waiter Eddie brought out carafes of each flavor and everyone was able to help themselves to whatever they wanted. As one disappeared, another one magically reappeared, thanks to Eddie. Peach was my favorite flavor. Guava wasn't listed as a mimosa flavor on the menu, but they did have guava juice. Just as we thought about asking Eddie to make it into a mimosa for us, he brought it out, like he had read our minds. Now that's a good waiter! My favorite thing in the food buffet was the bread pudding and I don't even like bread pudding. I have a sweet tooth so the caramel sauce and whipped cream they had on the side to go with it just made it magnificent. The silver dollar pancakes were also really good. I added a lil of the sauce and whipped cream from the bread pudding to the pancakes and to the biscuits they had, yummmm. They also had some tasty greens and chicken apple sausage. The only thing I didn't really care for were their country potatoes. Visit their website for a full menu and more information.

Isn't he just the cutest baby and Auntie Melissa makes him smile :-)
Look how my friends slayyyyedddd!!! :-)
They knew I was going to take a million pictures!!! LOL
